Malaysia – GO Communications has been chosen as the PR and communications agency for ANGKASA-X, a Malaysian technology company. As the appointed agency, GO Communications is responsible for handling all PR and communications tasks related to the launch of the A-SEANSAT-PG1 satellite, which was developed in Malaysia. The satellite was successfully deployed on 27th June at the Vostochny Cosmodrome.

The Vostochny Cosmodrome launch was broadcast in four different locations throughout Malaysia. These locations include the University Science Malaysia (USM) in Penang, the Malaysian Space Agency (MYSA) headquarters, and GreenPro Capital office in Kuala Lumpur, as well as the Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation Berhad (SDEC) office in Kuching.

Dr. Sean Seah, group executive chairman and CEO of ANGKASA-X, said, “In today’s hyper connected digital age, internet access is a necessity for the betterment of humankind. With the launch of PG1 and our subsequent satellites, we are committed to deliver social inclusion by reaching out to countries in Southeast Asia, particularly to the over 50% remote areas population that are currently deprived of any means of internet access. Our mission is to eventually bring affordable satellite services to all, especially those underserved regions along the equator.”

He also added, “We are witnessing a pivotal moment in the emergence of a new space era, where securing space orbital slots, developing space technology talents, R&D, building & launching homegrown satellites and engineering satellite solutions & applications will ultimately benefit Malaysia, Southeast Asia and beyond. In this regard, we are delighted to have GO Communications journey with us as our highly competent PR partner for the launch of the A-SEANSAT-PG1 satellite. Their proven track record as storytellers and deep understanding of the regional media landscape makes them the ideal choice to help us share the story of this groundbreaking initiative. Together, we will bring our vision of inclusive connectivity and the advancement of Malaysia’s space agenda to a wider audience.”

Meanwhie, GO communications CEO, Peter de Kretser, commented, “We are honoured to be chosen as the strategic PR partner for ANGKASA-X’s satellite launch. This project aligns perfectly with our commitment to supporting visionary companies that drive innovation and make a positive impact on society at large. We look forward to working closely with ANGKASA-X to create an impactful communications campaign that showcases the transformative potential of this launch and elevates Malaysia’s position in the global space industry.”

The launch marks the beginning of a project by ANGKASA-X, which will use its technology to clear the way for a Satellite-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution. This project intends to demonstrate Malaysia’s innovation by designing and deploying a constellation of Low-Earth-Orbit (LEO) satellites along the equator. Together, these satellites will close the digital divide and provide access to internet connectivity for millions of people in the area, with an emphasis on rural Asia. Additionally, as part of their objective, they will provide competitively priced remote sensing services.

The satellite launch will also supply governments, security agencies, and the commercial sector with important information. This information will cover a wide range of topics, including weather forecasting, plane tracking, maritime surveillance, security, and real-time photography of areas prone to potential catastrophes, including landslides, deforestation, and other natural calamities.
