IPG’s sport, entertainment agency Octagon announces leadership elevations in APAC

Singapore – Octagon, the sports and entertainment agency arm of the Interpublic Group of Companies (IPG), has announced key leadership elevations in the Asia-Pacific region. The new moves play a significant role in Octagon’s expansion into APAC, especially with the region hosting several sporting events such as the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Louise Ferguson and David Gregory have both been elevated to the roles of co-agency leads, with Ferguson also named as head of client services for Australia and Southeast Asia; while Gregory has been also named as head of sponsorship strategy for Australia and APAC.

Meanwhile, Jung Jee has also expanded its oversight to now become managing director for North and East Asia. This is on top of his existing role as managing director for South Korea, as well as added oversight of Octagon’s client efforts and its Japan office.

Lastly, Naveen Vohra has been named head of people and culture for Octagon APAC. In her new role, she will oversee recruitment, internal talent development, DE&I programs, and internal culture initiatives for Octagon across the APAC region.

Joanne Warnes, managing director for APAC at Octagon, said, “The move to elevate Louise, David, and Jung, as well as hire Naveen, to senior leadership positions in the agency comes at a time of tremendous growth and activity in the region, with clients looking for our guidance and strategy as we help them capitalise on the upcoming global sports and cultural events in the market.”

She added, “The direction, foresight, and contributions Louise, David, and Jung have provided our team and clients over the years has been a huge asset. And Naveen is a proven People and Culture leader who will further elevate our internal and external employee platforms. Under this group’s collective leadership, Octagon will continue to deliver first-class and award-winning campaigns for our clients, and provide our team members meaningful programs and work environments across Australia and Asia.”
