Australia – The University of Western Australia (UWA) has appointed VML Perth and WPP Media as its new media and creative partners, following a competitive tender process.
The Brand Agency previously held the role, and UWA’s Chief Marketing Officer Haylee Felton acknowledged its contribution. Felton said the agency had made a “strong contribution and long-standing partnership.”
The new partnership with VML Perth and WPP Media is intended to revitalise UWA’s brand and deliver work across student and community touchpoints. The decision came after what the university described as a rigorous tender process involving several top-tier agencies, with support from Trinity P3.
Felton said VML Perth and WPP Media stood out during the process.
“We were highly impressed by the calibre of work and the passion the teams brought to every interaction,” she said. “There was an instant alignment of values, and we anticipate a strong and collaborative partnership with a one-team mindset.”
Meanwhile, VML CCO Paul Nagy said the collaboration was driven by UWA’s creative ambition.
“The instant chemistry between the teams and a shared ambition to elevate the work to new heights has set us up for a strong long-term partnership.”
WPP Media’s Peter Vogel said the partnership would combine media expertise with creative ideas.
“Partnering with UWA alongside VML, allows us to bring media, data and technology expertise together with bold creative ideas to amplify their story of academic excellence and innovation, reaching new students and shaping future leaders.”
