Singapore – A month-long initiative is set to bring families and animal lovers closer to Singapore’s rescued street dogs this December, as McCann Worldgroup Singapore, SOSD and Klook launch the “Singapore Special Walk” at SOSD’s Sungei Tengah shelter.
Held every weekend evening, the event invites participants to take gentle walks with Singapore Special—mixed-breed rescued dogs—alongside an educational tour of the shelter and a relaxed picnic with the dogs.
Guests will also receive a portrait taken by McCann Content Studios as a keepsake.
Organisers hope the activity will help boost visibility and support for Singapore Specials, which often face lower adoption rates due to misconceptions.
The walks also offer emotional benefits, with research showing that even short interactions with dogs can reduce stress and anxiety.
“Every walk and every interaction helps our dogs regain trust and confidence in people,” said Kieran Kua, head of operations at SOSD.
“Events like the ‘Singapore Special Walk’ raise awareness that these resilient dogs have so much love to give, and are just as lovable as any purebred dog. It’s wonderful to be partnering with Klook and McCann Worldgroup to support our efforts at giving these rescues their second chance at life,” Kua added.
Bookings are available through Klook, which aims to make meaningful local experiences more accessible.
“‘Singapore Special Walk’ is a perfect example that connects people with a heartfelt cause, giving families and animal lovers a memorable experience with a meaningful purpose,” said Sarah Wan, general manager of Klook Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia.
McCann Worldgroup Singapore said the collaboration reflects its commitment to using creativity for impact.
“It’s always a joy to use creativity to make a tangible difference and communicate everyday truths that might be overlooked. The ‘Singapore Special Walk’ is a small act with a big heart,” said Seth Low, art director, McCann Singapore.
The event runs every weekend in December at 5.30 pm, with registrations available via Klook.
