Singapore – Mastercard has appointed Minsook Cho as country manager for Singapore, where she will lead the company’s strategic direction and business operations while working with regional and global clients headquartered in the market.
Cho will oversee Mastercard’s efforts to support Singapore’s digital payments development, collaborating with public and private sector partners to advance secure, smart, and inclusive payment solutions for consumers and businesses.
She brings more than 20 years’ experience across payments, fintech, analytics, and consulting.
Since joining Mastercard in 2013, Cho has held senior leadership roles, most recently as senior vice-president for Advisors Client Services in Asia Pacific, where she led consulting, analytics, and managed services across major regional markets.
“Singapore is one of the most advanced and dynamic financial ecosystems in the region, and Mastercard is committed to supporting its continued growth,” said Safdar Khan, division president, Southeast Asia, Mastercard.
Khan emphasised, “Minsook’s experience in Data and Services, including enhancing business performance, elevating consumer experiences and enabling innovation, together with her deep understanding of the market, positions her to strengthen intelligence, security and interoperability across Singapore’s payments ecosystem. We are confident she will lead the next chapter of our journey in this mature and forward-looking market.”
Cho commented, “I am honored to lead Mastercard’s business in Singapore, a market I have been deeply connected with for many years. Having spent over a decade driving data-driven strategies and advisory services across Asia Pacific, I look forward to leveraging this experience to deliver innovative, insight-led solutions that empower Singaporeans and accelerate the country’s digital innovation.”
Her appointment comes as Singapore advances digital finance initiatives led by the Monetary Authority of Singapore, including work on tokenisation, artificial intelligence, and stablecoin regulation, aimed at strengthening the country’s payments infrastructure.
“Together with our talented team and trusted partners, we will continue building a secure, inclusive, and connected payments ecosystem for Singapore,” Cho further added.
Before joining Mastercard, Cho held senior roles at foodpanda, Lazada, and Boston Consulting Group.
