Los Angeles – TBWA\Media Arts Lab, a bespoke agency dedicated to Apple, has recently announced the appointment of Lu Borges as its newly appointed chief communications officer.
In this new role, Lu will lead the teams responsible for both internal and external communications, as well as oversee public relations across the agency’s seven global hubs. Her responsibilities include managing global communications, reputation, social presence, awards, and events.
With nearly two decades of experience, Lu brings a wealth of expertise to the company, having held key roles on three continents. Her contributions have helped shape, define, and fuel the reputation of highly effective and creative agencies like BMF and the renowned Spanish agency Shackleton (now Accenture Song).
Adding to her extensive background, her previous experience as the head of brand and communications at MullenLowe U.S. has also allowed the implementation of a comprehensive approach to communications. This in turn elevated the agency’s reputation.
Notably, she played a pivotal role in the agency’s global rebrand, transforming its “Challenger Octopus” logo into a modern, abstract, and fluid identity.
Speaking about Lu’s appointment, Katrien De Bauw, CEO at TBWA\Media Arts Lab, shared, “Lu is sharp, talented, kind, and unafraid, and her understanding of creativity and culture will undoubtedly add great value for our client and elevate our agency.”
Meanwhile, Lu remarked, “I have long admired Media Arts Lab and how its bespoke creations for Apple have consistently raised the creative bar and impacted culture. I couldn’t be more excited to play a role in shaping the agency’s evolution alongside Katrien, Brent, and such a talented group of people.”
Following this appointment, Lu is set to work under the supervision of Katrien De Bauw.
