Singapore – Singapore Management University (SMU) has launched a new brand campaign titled Bold Ideas, Big Impact, designed to communicate the ambitions of its SMU2030 strategic plan and highlight the university’s commitment to creating measurable societal impact.
The campaign underscores SMU’s focus on translating ideas into tangible outcomes through education, research, and partnerships, reinforcing its positioning as a global city university in Asia.
“At SMU, we are entering a new chapter—one that calls on us to be more intentional about the impact we create, and more ambitious about the future we want to help shape. As we deepen our role as Asia’s premier global city university, this new brand campaign gives expression to that ambition,” said Christopher Chew, vice president of the Office of Corporate Communications and Marketing at SMU.
According to the university, the initiative aims to sharpen how SMU communicates its mission and contributions in Singapore, across Asia, and internationally.
At the centre of the campaign is the message that bold thinking should extend beyond academic environments to generate real-world outcomes that improve lives and address pressing societal challenges.
Chew added, “It provides a clear and compelling platform to communicate who we are, what we stand for, and the difference we seek to make through education, research and partnerships. Because bold ideas matter most when they move beyond the page, the classroom or the lab, and into people’s lives.”

The initiative launches with a new brand video and tagline, Bold Ideas, Big Impact, highlighting how SMU connects insight with action—from preparing graduates to lead with purpose to advancing research that informs policy and industry.

The campaign will roll out through print, digital, and out-of-home advertising formats, each highlighting one of the university’s three core pillars: education, research, and partnerships.

The campaign also serves as a platform for the university to communicate the progress of its SMU2030 priorities, as it seeks to expand its influence, strengthen partnerships, and broaden its contribution to society through impactful research and education.
