Maybank Singapore reimagines credit card launch with American Tourister collab

Singapore – Maybank Singapore has teamed up with global lifestyle brand American Tourister to introduce the new Maybank XL Cards, marking what the bank describes as a first-of-its-kind collaboration in Southeast Asia.

The partnership highlights the XL Cards’ travel-inspired design, which resembles a luggage case decorated with stickers, and aims to connect everyday financial services with lifestyle experiences in dining, shopping, entertainment, and travel.

From Sept. 19 to Oct. 2, cardholders will receive 10% off American Tourister’s Diazip collection, one of the brand’s most popular series.

According to Maybank, the campaign blends “the practicality of cashback and rewards with the aspirational appeal of travel gear,” positioning the launch as both a financial product and a lifestyle statement.

Tessa Er, head of cards and personal loans at Maybank Singapore, said, “The best perks shouldn’t be reserved only for premium cards. Maybank is bringing rich rewards, like 4 miles per dollar with the Maybank XL Rewards Card and 5% cashback with the Maybank XL Cashback Card. Now young adults can enjoy more value on their everyday favourites when they live, spend, and explore. It’s about making great benefits accessible, right from the start of their financial journey.”

American Tourister said its Diazip collection reflects the joy of travel and complements the XL Cards’ theme of exploration.

Hazlina Dayangku, head of marketing and brand strategy (SEA) at American Tourister, commented, “American Tourister has always celebrated the joy of travel. Through this collaboration with Maybank, we aim to empower a new generation to embrace life with confidence, inspiring them to explore boldly, embrace new experiences, and turn everyday journeys into unforgettable adventures.”

The campaign will also feature media outreach to more than 30 lifestyle creators and media partners, showcasing curated items and exclusive deals through “FOMO Fridays” promotions.
