Hong Kong – As part of its enduring tradition of marking Chinese New Year with the Hong Kong community, Hang Seng Bank has unveiled its latest citywide campaign, “The God of Wealth is Coming to Town.”
Coinciding with the Year of the Horse, the campaign brings the iconic Hang Seng God of Wealth to life through a group of prominent artists delivering festive greetings and positive energy across all 18 districts.
Since the 1970s, the Hang Seng God of Wealth has symbolised prosperity and good fortune during the city’s Chinese New Year celebrations. This year, the bank continues the tradition with an initiative featuring celebrities Nicholas Tse, Charlene Choi, Hung Ka-ho, and members of the girl group VIVA – Ada Jiang, Carina Li, Valerie Cheung, and Brittany Tsang – who each take on the role of the God of Wealth and perform a newly remade version of the festive song “Choi San Dou”, spreading blessings across the city.
The campaign also incorporates district-specific greetings in Chinese, with residents of Yau Ma Tei, Tsim Sha Tsui, and Mong Kok receiving wishes for “flourishing prosperity” (“財運暢旺”), strengthening community connection.
To further engage the public, Hang Seng will host online and offline activities. The God of Wealth will distribute festive posters at Central and Wan Chai MTR stations on 4 and 5 February, and the public is invited to co-create and share festive greetings on Hang Seng’s official Instagram.
Hang Seng Personal Banking and Commercial Banking customers who complete designated fortune missions between 2 February and 31 March will be entered into the Million-Dollar Gold Coin Lucky Draw. Prizes include God of Wealth & Gallant Horse 999.9 Pure Gold Medals and Ruyi Knot editions, with a total value exceeding HKD 1 million.
