Singapore – Veeam Software has appointed Mika Yamamoto as its new Chief Marketing and Customer AI Officer, expanding her remit beyond global marketing to include the company’s customer AI strategy.
In the newly created role, Yamamoto will lead Veeam’s global marketing organisation while overseeing the development of the company’s customer AI framework, aimed at making customer interactions more personalised, relevant, and informed throughout the customer journey.
According to Veeam, the framework is designed to help organisations better understand and maximise the value of their data and AI investments while delivering more consistent customer experiences.
Yamamoto joins Veeam from Freshworks, where she served as chief integrated customer growth officer, overseeing AI-powered customer and employee experiences across marketing, sales, customer success, and support.
Prior to that, she was chief customer engagement and marketing officer at F5, where she led the company’s customer experience transformation. Her career also includes leadership positions at Marketo, Adobe, SAP, and Microsoft, alongside earlier roles at Gartner and Accenture.
Anand Eswaran, CEO of Veeam, said Yamamoto’s experience across marketing, customer experience, sales, and AI-driven go-to-market transformation made her well positioned to help strengthen the company’s market presence and customer engagement.
Commenting on her appointment, Yamamoto said organisations increasingly require greater visibility, security, and governance over the data that powers both AI systems and human workflows, adding that she sees an opportunity for Veeam to help customers manage those needs through its platform.
The appointment comes as Veeam continues to position itself around data resilience, security, and AI trust, with the company aiming to help organisations securely operationalise AI using trusted data.
