China – China Daily has officially launched “China Bound”, an English-language smart tourism service platform aimed at helping international travellers explore China.
The platform offers a one-stop service for international visitors, covering travel inspiration, personalised itinerary planning, intelligent Q&A, ticket booking, and the sharing of travel experiences. It is designed to make exploring China easier and more accessible for overseas tourists.
“China Bound” operates through a multi-dimensional system that includes a website, mini-programs, intelligent systems, and overseas social media accounts. The English-language website follows a “main site + city sub-site” structure. The main site features four core sections—Travel Destinations, Itinerary Planning, Must-buy Items, and Must-try Food—highlighting China’s natural landscapes, historical culture, modern cities, and local customs in a structured and comprehensive manner.
City and regional sub-sites offer seven columns: Uniquely in (city), Pre-trip Knowledge, Speciality Cuisine, Popular Attractions, Must-buy Items, Hotel Accommodation, and Festive Activities. These sections are expected to expand gradually to cover more destinations and experiences. The website is optimised for both desktop and mobile devices, ensuring a seamless browsing experience.
China Bound has also developed mini-programs for Alipay and WeChat. The initial Alipay mini-program, supported by Ant Digital Technologies, integrates essential travel services such as real-time translation, flight and hotel booking, train-ticket purchasing, currency conversion, and online payment. Users can access the mini-program by searching for “China Bound” or “游在中国” on Alipay.
To meet personalised travel needs, the platform includes an intelligent assistant that supports multilingual interactions. Through the assistant, users can customise itineraries, check real-time traffic, and access cultural information, providing smart tour guide services anytime and anywhere.
With China’s inbound tourism policies continuing to evolve and growing international interest in visiting the country, China Daily said the platform aims to strengthen connections between China and global audiences.
China Bound will work with national cultural and tourism institutions, cultural venues, and service providers to deliver credible content, immersive experiences, and practical travel services. The platform seeks to guide visitors from simply seeing China to gaining a deeper understanding of the country, while promoting cultural exchange.
