China – Monks, the digital-first brand of S4Capital plc, has promoted Dixi Chern (庄迪希) to general manager (GM) of its Shanghai office, effective immediately.
Chern, an award-winning marketing leader, has held senior roles across networks such as TBWA, POSSIBLE, and MullenLowe, bringing expertise in business, strategy, and data. At Monks, he previously served as client service director, where he led key accounts and delivered marketing solutions for brands including Adidas APAC & Greater China, Hilton Group China, AB InBev China, Unilever, and Johnnie Walker House globally.
As Shanghai GM, he will oversee client partnerships, P&L, and operations, while advancing Monks’ integrated capabilities to support organisational marketing transformation.
Chern will also work alongside Danny Lee, managing director of Monks Greater China, in leading a multidisciplinary team delivering AI-powered marketing solutions across China and the wider APAC region.
“Dixi has been instrumental in driving our Shanghai operations and building strong client relationships over the past four years. His leadership, client focus, and proven ability to deliver results make him ideally suited to guide our next phase of growth in Greater China,” Lee commented.
The appointment highlights Monks’ intent to strengthen its presence in China, one of the world’s fastest-evolving markets.
Chern said of his new role: “I’m thrilled to take on this role and continue building on the strong foundations we have laid. I look forward to working with Danny and our team to further strengthen client partnership, empower our team, and deliver effective and innovative marketing solutions across Greater China.”
The move comes as Monks pursues a broader strategy of expanding in APAC. By combining content, data, digital media, production, and technology, the company aims to deliver marketing solutions with measurable business impact while driving long-term growth and innovation.
