Mumbai, India – To celebrate this year’s International Women’s Day, Levi’s in India has launched the seventh season of its ‘#IShapeMyWorld’ campaign, which has since evolved into a year-long digital initiative.
Initiated back in 2017, the ‘#IShapeMyWorld’ campaign is a platform that tells the stories of unstoppable women, whose stories inspire and engage millions of women across India. It has already featured close to 50 women to date, including Faye D’souza, Zoya Akhtar, Rajakumari, Iti Rawat, and Sumukhi Suresh, amongst others.
For this season, the campaign goes beyond talking about inspiring stories and aims at enabling and empowering women through live sessions highlighting the protagonists’ journeys, periodic masterclasses, and flagship internship programs. Moreover, the campaign is also rooted in the concept that behind every successful woman is another woman who has inspired her, supported her, and cheered her on.
To recognise and celebrate women across India, Levi’s has spotlighted four fearless women, including Hima Das, the first Indian woman to win gold at IAAF WorldU20 Championships and now shaping things as a deputy superintendent of Police in Assam, as well as Mandira Bedi, an actress, one of the first female commentators, and a host for the ICC World Cup.
Also featured in the campaign is Dr. Kirti Bharti, a tireless crusader against child marriage, of which she is a survivor, and has dedicated her life to freeing girls from the clutches of child marriage in Rajasthan. And lastly, Tanya Appachu, a lawyer who makes women’s rights and laws accessible to the people through social media.Saikot Das,
Saikot Das, Levi Strauss & Co’s marketing director for South Asia, Middle East, and Africa, said, “This season, we not only continue with more inspiring stories but go a step further to try and enable and empower women through various initiatives all-round the year, with an endeavour to make a more tangible impact.”
