India — The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has awarded Laqshya Media Group the mandate to handle the opening and closing ceremonies, mid-innings match entertainment, and fan engagement for the Tata Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026.
Under the agreement, Laqshya Media Group will oversee the in-stadium spectator experience across all 22 matches of the tournament. The scope of work encompasses live entertainment, fan engagement initiatives, and large-scale production elements designed to expand the league’s reach beyond the matches themselves.
The 2026 season will be the first major women’s cricket tournament in India since the national team’s victory at the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025. Against this backdrop, the organisers are positioning the upcoming WPL season as an opportunity to reconnect fans with the women’s game and acknowledge the recent international success.

According to the organisers, the opening ceremony will feature a performance by Jacqueline Fernandez, while the closing ceremony will include a performance by Yo Yo Honey Singh.
Laqshya Media Group is also planning live performances during mid-innings breaks throughout the season, alongside the use of technologies such as drone displays and laser installations. Additional elements, including live brass bands and on-ground fan activities, are intended to combine local sporting culture with large-scale entertainment formats.
Beyond the stadiums, Laqshya Media Group will execute an out-of-home (OOH) visibility campaign across major cities, state capitals, and airports. The campaign will encompass both digital and static formats to enhance the league’s visibility in public spaces.
Commenting on the partnership, Alok Jalan, CMD, Laqshya Media Group, said, “India is a country where sport is not just watched; it is deeply felt. At Laqshya, our focus is on building meaningful, scalable sporting experiences that go far beyond one tournament or one season.”
Alok added, “The Women’s Premier League is a defining moment for women’s sport in India, and we are committed to creating platforms, visibility, and fan engagement models that will continue to elevate Indian sport for years to come.”
The collaboration marks Laqshya Media Group’s latest involvement in large-scale sports and entertainment projects, as the WPL continues to expand its footprint within India’s sporting calendar.
