Indonesia – Google Indonesia has teamed up with DDB Singapore, Superson, and Hagia Labs to roll out an AI-powered “see-through” billboard campaign for Google Gemini’s #BikinGebrakanLo initiative.

The campaign reimagines outdoor advertising by capturing the architectural surroundings of billboard sites and blending them with AI-generated visuals. Using Google’s Veo 3 technology, the billboards create immersive street-level experiences across Jakarta, Surabaya, and Bandung. Visuals include bubble tea waves cascading between buildings, dinosaurs roaming city streets, interdimensional portals, and Jakarta’s iconic Ondel-Ondel puppets performing aerobics.

Superson led the creative process through its “Supersprint” methodology, bringing together Google’s technological capabilities, DDB Singapore’s creative leadership, Hagia Labs’ technical expertise, and contributions from Indonesian creative talent, including students and local artists. Each billboard features a QR code inviting local creators to submit Veo 3 content to be featured in their cities.

Antti Toivonen, MD for Superson APAC, shared, “This goes to show how AI technologies enable entirely new formats. Bringing cityscapes and trends to life at scale and speed would not have been possible without Google’s latest technologies. And now they are available to the wider public too. It’s the era of supercharged creativity.”

“All in all, a great co-creation exercise, where DDB’s core concept set the creative agenda for this execution, and we worked in high-speed sprints with them, Google, and Hagia to bring the OOH component of the #BikinGebrakanLo campaign to life,” Toivonen added.

The campaign comprises around 40 unique 15-second assets produced in just weeks—a process that would typically take months. At City Plaza, a 30×20 m display adapts dynamically to real-time weather conditions and can deploy new AI-driven content within 24 hours based on social trends or news events, ensuring the campaign remains fresh and culturally relevant.

Vinod Savio, chief creative officer at DDB Singapore, explained, “This spectacular OOH execution is a powerful validation of the #BikinGebrakanLo concept. DDB set the creative mandate and ideation framework for the wider Gemini campaign, and this ‘see-through’ component brilliantly showcases how an incredible partner like Superson, using their sprint model, can turn a big creative vision into a world-first technical reality with unmatched speed.”

“This project proved AI can lift both speed and quality,” added Sedat Boynuegri, founder of Hagia Labs. “We designed see-through and 3D billboard experiences, using real-time social listening to turn live cultural signals into design. The bigger win was the workflow.”

This marks the first commercial deployment of AI video generation technology at scale for outdoor advertising and showcases a hybrid collaboration model. By merging technology, creative expertise, and cultural insight, the project demonstrates how brands can deliver innovative, locally resonant campaigns. Local partners supporting the initiative include HudHud, Media Futures Group, and Voxxy.

“Working with multiple partners on this project exemplifies how modern brands are building their dream teams from the best specialists across agencies and technology providers,” said Mira Sumanti, Southeast Asia brand & creative lead at Google.

“The excellent media landscape of Indonesia created the perfect canvas to test and push the boundaries of VEO3’s capabilities. The sprint-based approach with clear swim lanes for each partner ensures we’re creating genuine cultural connections while pushing technological boundaries,” she added.
