Singapore – UNIQLO Singapore is teaming up with heritage snack brand Old Chang Kee to serve up a fresh flavour of fashion this October.
Launching on October 17, the new UTme! collection features seven T-shirt designs and six embroidery options inspired by the nation’s beloved Curry’O and Old Chang Kee’s iconic REX outlet, brought to life through playful illustrations by local design studio Wheniwasfour.
“Since 1956, we have continuously strived to bring joy and comfort to the everyday lives of Singaporeans,” shared Han Keen Juan, chairman and founder of Old Chang Kee.
“This collaboration with UNIQLO is especially meaningful as we both uphold strong values of providing the best experience for our customers. It is important for us to innovate and develop the best tasting products that cater to all races, generations and various walks of life,” they added.
UNIQLO marketing director Paulene Ong said, “What inspires us deeply is how Old Chang Kee’s rich tradition and heritage is kept alive with dedicated training [and] upskilling of future generation[s] of talents.”
“At UNIQLO, we share the same belief with our LifeWear Philosophy; creating simple essential pieces that are designed to be lived in, loved and carried forward through generations. Together with Old Chang Kee and local design studio Wheniwasfour, we hope that every design resonates strongly with our local community and tourists exploring more about Singapore’s food culture,” she elaborated.
Fans can look forward to in-store festivities from October 17 to 19, including redemptions of Old Chang Kee snacks such as the new Japanese Cheezy Curry’O and classic bites like Chicken Wing, Curry’O, and Sotong Head Onstik.
The first 500 customers who purchase two Old Chang Kee UTme! shirts at UNIQLO Orchard Central Global Flagship Store can redeem their favourite treat, while shoppers island-wide can pick up limited-edition luggage stickers with each purchase.cop
