Manila, Philippines — McDonald’s marked Halloween with a light-hearted digital activation showcasing its ‘Ride-Thru’ as a space open to all types of customers, fictional creatures included.
The brand released a series of TikTok videos featuring characters such as a vampire arriving on a skateboard, dwendes (dwarfs) squeezed into a sidecar, and a white lady gliding in on a hoverboard. The clips captured these figures placing food orders, underscoring the brand’s message that “when the craving hits”, anyone, even monsters, might turn up hungry.

The videos quickly gained traction online, prompting customers to share the clips across social platforms, praising the activation for its playful and timely execution.
Ashley Santillan-Delgado, marketing director at McDonald’s Philippines, said: “At McDonald’s, we’ve always believed the Ride-Thru should be for everyone, no matter their ride. Halloween gave us a fun way to show it. However, this inclusivity isn’t seasonal; it’s how we welcome our customers every day.”
McDonald’s introduced its Ride-Thru concept several years ago, expanding its Drive-Thru format to accommodate varied modes of transport, including bicycles, scooters, skateboards, and even carabaos during the ‘Kneeling Carabao Festival’. The Halloween stunt reinforces this positioning and the brand’s continued emphasis on accessibility.
