Hong Kong – The Macao Government Tourism Office has partnered with Hong Kong travel platform Flyday HK to launch “Macao, Get, Set, Glow 2026”, a campaign that encourages visitors to explore the city on foot. Announced on 17 July, the initiative pairs jogging with sightseeing under the tagline “Run Beyond the Landmarks. Discover Another Side of Macao.”
The campaign builds eight running routes across four themes, pitched at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. One route pairs running with food, taking participants through traditional markets and back alleys. Another focuses on heritage, sending runners through old districts to explore the city’s history. A third route runs through residential communities to highlight everyday local life, whilst a fourth combines coastal scenery with quieter leisure spots away from typical tourist paths.
Influencers from Hong Kong and abroad will front the routes, with content distributed across Instagram, Facebook, Threads, TikTok, Xiaohongshu and YouTube to build engagement across different social platforms.
Alongside the routes, the campaign includes public voting for favourite influencer-led routes and an offline challenge: participants who complete designated runs and post photos at landmarks can claim free gifts, including Marathon Sports coupons.
A companion video series, styled as rapid-fire street interviews, features three Macao residents — a Macanese heritage chef, the owner of a century-old local shop and a local runner — sharing their perspectives on the city’s food, jogging culture and history.
The campaign also involves a partnership with e-payment platform AlipayHK, which will distribute campaign vouchers and offer A.Point rewards on purchases made in Macao. The tie-up is designed to convert online interest into spending within local communities, with event details to be released in phases through the AlipayHK app.
