Seoul, South Korea – Fan-driven content is taking centre stage in South Korea’s digital entertainment scene. The Pinkfong Company, the studio behind global hit “Baby Shark,” has partnered with Supertone to expand its latest IP, REDREX, into AI-powered, fan-generated content.
The collaboration integrates REDREX’s official character voices into Supertone Play, a generative AI platform for text-to-speech (TTS) creation.
Fans can now produce dubbed clips, memes, and other short-form videos using the series’ AI-generated voices—blurring the line between creator and consumer in the digital fandom.
REDREX, a short-form animated office comedy designed for mobile-first platforms, follows Rex, a self-proclaimed “workaphobic” dinosaur navigating modern workplace life.
Since its October 2025 debut, REDREX has amassed over 500,000 followers across social platforms, with TikTok clips surpassing 21 million views.
Episodes run one to three minutes, optimised for social media, and are released weekly on the official REDREX YouTube channel.
Supertone’s Sona Speech models support 23 languages and deliver expressive, natural-sounding performances, enabling global fan engagement.
The technology, widely used in streaming productions, allows creators to generate highly realistic AI audio for dialogue and singing, broadening possibilities for user-generated content (UGC) and participatory media.
“REDREX has gained strong traction in North America since its debut on social media,” said Bitna Kwon, chief strategy officer at The Pinkfong Company.
Kwon added, “Through our partnership with Supertone, we hope to introduce REDREX to even more fans and unlock new forms of fan-generated content powered by AI voice technology.”
The short-form format and AI-enabled creative tools are particularly resonating with Gen Z and millennial audiences, reinforcing the IP’s potential for viral engagement and global distribution.
The integration builds on Pinkfong’s digital-first, platform-native approach to IP development.
By combining AI voice technology, generative tools, and fan-generated content workflows, the company is creating a scalable ecosystem for participatory storytelling—expanding its footprint in the creator economy and positioning REDREX as a cross-border, interactive franchise.
