Bangkok, Thailand – True Corporation has partnered with Myanmar-based entertainment platform Mahar to offer Myanmar digital content to subscribers in Thailand, targeting the country’s migrant community.
The collaboration will allow users in Thailand to access Mahar’s catalogue of films, television series and variety programmes through their mobile devices. Productions developed across Myanmar, as well as other entertainment programmes available on Mahar, will be accessible to subscribers through Mahar’s mobile application.
The companies said the initiative is aimed at expanding digital entertainment options for Myanmar nationals living in the country.
As part of the launch, True and dtac customers will be able to subscribe to the service at a daily rate of 5 THB, with charges deducted directly from their mobile balance. The company said the payment mechanism is designed to allow access without the need for a credit card.
True stated that the partnership marks the first time the Mahar platform has been made available in Thailand through a local telecom operator. The company added that views generated through the official app contribute revenue to content owners and creators in Myanmar.
