Jakarta, Indonesia – Publicis Groupe Indonesia has named Chetan Shetty as managing director for growth, a newly created position aimed at strengthening the company’s operations in one of the world’s fastest-growing consumer markets. The appointment was announced on 25 September 2025. The agency had also announced two senior creative hires at Leo Indonesia, namely Nadia Yuliani and Carlos Guto Kono as senior creative directors.
Shetty brings close to 20 years of leadership experience in both creative and media agencies. He previously served as managing director at McCann and FCB Jakarta, and was Partner – Content at Wavemaker (GroupM) Jakarta. His background includes launching content divisions, building influencer practices, and delivering award-winning work for a wide range of brands.
According to Sony Nichani, CEO of Publicis Groupe Indonesia, Shetty will focus on growth through integrating data, media and content. “In a time of major marketing shifts fuelled by tech innovations and changing consumer behaviours, we’re investing in leaders who drive transformative integration for our clients. Chetan’s expertise in content and media will further unify our Groupe capabilities and help clients achieve outstanding business results,” Nichani said.
Shetty commented, “I’m genuinely excited to be part of Publicis Groupe Indonesia because it is bringing together creative, media, content, and tech in a way that truly makes a difference. Today’s audiences are constantly evolving, and it’s not just about capturing attention – it’s about turning that attention into real, measurable results. With a strong connected culture and trusting client relationships, we can create truly impactful work that resonates and drives growth. This feels like the right place for me to contribute, learn, and push boundaries.”
Meanwhile, Yuliani returns to the agency, nearly 20 years after starting her career there as a copywriter. Her portfolio includes work in the FMCG, telecommunications, personal care, and food and beverage sectors. Yuliani will work closely with William Mathovani, creative partner at Leo Indonesia.
Lastly, Kono brings with him experience from Leo Mexico and Publicis Brazil and an international career spanning São Paulo, Seoul and Germany. He has 25 years of experience across industries including FMCG, automotive, e-commerce and food and beverage, and reports to Ravi Shanker, chief creative officer of Leo Indonesia and Publicis Groupe Indonesia.
Publicis Groupe Indonesia, serving a market of more than 280 million people, said the appointments will support its recent growth and help showcase Indonesian creativity internationally. All three appointments take effect immediately.
