Hong Kong – Mastercard has announced a partnership with Citi and five local F&B and hospitality groups — 1957 & Co. (Hospitality) Limited, Island Shangri-La, LUBUDS Group, Regent Hong Kong and The Food Story Hong Kong Limited — to offer Citi Mastercard cardholders exclusive access to harbourfront dining during Hong Kong’s National Day Fireworks Display on October 1.
The collaboration will provide priority booking at 13 participating restaurants, featuring Cantonese, Western, Japanese and French cuisines. Reservations open in two phases: Citi ULTIMA cardholders, Citigold Private Client and Citigold clients can secure bookings from August 25 to 27, followed by all eligible Citi Mastercard cardholders from August 28 to September 10 via the priceless™ Citi ULTIMA and priceless™ Citi webpages.
The initiative comes amid rising consumer demand for unique experiences, particularly among affluent customers. Mastercard research indicates that nearly three-quarters of cardholders feel their best when engaging in activities such as culinary exploration, artistic pursuits and cultural immersion. The trend is particularly strong among the top 30 percent of earners, who spend more than twice the average cardholder.
Helena Chen, senior vice president and general manager for Hong Kong and Macau at Mastercard, said, “Consumers today are prioritising experiences with loved ones over material things. Tapping into this sentiment, Mastercard is delighted to serve as an enabler in bringing together Citi and local F&B and hospitality groups to offer Citi Mastercard cardholders a memorable culinary experience.”
She added, “This partnership reimagines the essence of a priceless experience by combining premium dining opportunities with the spectacle of fireworks. Beyond creating unforgettable moments for Citi Mastercard cardholders, this initiative also supports the local F&B industry and helps to rejuvenate the city’s hospitality sector, further underscoring Mastercard’s dedication to celebrating and strengthening Hong Kong’s vibrant culture and economy.”
Meanwhile, Vicky Kong, head of wealth for Asia North and Australia at Citi, commented, “At Citi, we have observed a strong and growing demand for premium dining experiences among our cardholders, especially our affluent Citi Prestige and Citi ULTIMA members. Dining remains one of the largest spending categories, with notable growth in the first half of 2025.”
She added, “This sustained appetite for high-end dining underpins our partnership with Mastercard to offer an exclusive National Day Fireworks dining experience. It’s not just an unforgettable evening for our customers; it’s also a meaningful way to support Hong Kong’s vibrant food and beverage industry.”
The collaboration highlights efforts by Mastercard, Citi and the participating F&B groups to enhance Hong Kong’s dining scene while supporting the city’s hospitality sector.
Previously, Mastercard in Hong Kong launched a concept restaurant named ‘LUMA’ alongside Hong-Kong based F&B group LUBUDS within the 1881 Heritage site, a first for the company in Asia-Pacific.
