India – The Indian Influencer Governing Council (IIGC) has launched ‘IIGC Protect’, a new initiative aimed at equipping influencers with legal knowledge and mental health support, backed by partnerships with Trilegal and United We Care.
Trilegal, one of India’s largest law firms, joins the initiative as the legal knowledge partner. As part of the collaboration, IIGC Protect will develop legal primers on key topics such as brand agreements, advertising regulations, intellectual property rights, data privacy, artificial intelligence, and financial responsibilities for finfluencers. Interactive workshops will also be held to address legal questions raised by influencers.
Yogesh Singh, senior partner and head of corporate practice at Trilegal, said, “As the digital economy matures, influencers, brands, and platforms are navigating increasingly complex legal and regulatory landscapes. We support Indian Influencer Council Group (IICG)’s aim to equip all stakeholders (brands and influencers alike) with essential legal knowledge so that they are able to make informed and responsible decisions.”
Meanwhile, United We Care x Adayu – a Fortis Group company— has been named the exclusive mental health partner. The partnership will provide tools for influencers to assess the impact of mental health on their performance and will include well-being huddles—webinars offering direct engagement with mental health practitioners.
Ritu Mehrotra, founder and CEO of United We Care, shared, “The lives of influencers may appear glamorous, but it comes with unseen emotional and psychological demands. Our partnership with IIGC allows us to extend mental health support into the daily routines of creators, making care accessible and deeply personal.”
Dr Samir Parikh, director of the Department of Mental Health and Behavioural Sciences at Adayu – A Fortis Group Company, added, “Mental health needs to be prioritised, and we all need to come together as equal stakeholders to ensure that mental health support is available for everyone. The role of technology in making mental health accessible unlocks the reach.”
As the initiative rolls out, IIGC is set to host its upcoming event in Bangalore on 28th June, which will include dedicated sessions focused on IIGC Protect.
Commenting on the launch, Sahil Chopra, chairman of IIGC, said, “With IIGC Protect, we’re helping influencers navigate the complexities of legal and mental health challenges, and by joining hands with Trilegal and United We Care x Adayu – A Fortis Group Company, we will ensure that influencers have access to trusted guidance.”
