Jakarta, Indonesia – ZTE Corporation has announced the large-scale commercialization of its Free Ad-Supported TV (FAST) solution in Indonesia, working with MyRepublic Indonesia and digital content platform MetaX. The partnership introduces an ad-supported streaming model aimed at helping telecom operators in emerging markets upgrade media services without heavy capital spending.
Under the agreement, ZTE provides the technical framework for content distribution, terminal management and service assurance. MetaX integrates programming—offering more than 90 live channels and extensive on-demand content—and manages the advertising revenue-sharing system. MyRepublic Indonesia handles user engagement as well as network operations and maintenance.
The model allows operators to expand content and share advertising revenue without additional hardware investment, which the companies say offers a sustainable way to increase average revenue per user (ARPU).
ZTE said its end-to-end operation support system helps deliver stable, high-definition streaming tailored to local audiences, while MetaX’s revenue-sharing mechanism offers a new income stream.
Hendra Gunawan, chief technology officer at MyRepublic Indonesia, stated, “This solution accurately responds to our urgent need to balance service upgrading and cost control. Relying on ZTE’s technical architecture and MetaX’s content advertising system, we have accessed more than 90 live channels without any new investment and opened up a new revenue source through advertising revenue sharing. With this collaboration, MyRepublic takes entertainment to the next level by introducing FAST Channel in Indonesia.”
Meanwhile, Ryan Chi, general manager at MetaX, said, “The localised content library and advertising revenue sharing system we have built have created the feasibility of zero-cost upgrading for operators. This cooperation has proven that by accurately matching the preferences of Indonesian audiences with the needs of advertisers, we can achieve dual improvements in user value and commercial revenue.”
Lastly, Liu Qun, general manager of digital home product line at ZTE, added, “The core value of the project lies in solving the dilemma faced by operators, wondering to upgrade but hesitant due to high investment. ZTE’s technical framework, seamlessly integrated with MetaX’s advertising ecosystem, creates a deep complementarity, enabling MyRepublic Indonesia to initiate service transformation with zero risk. This collaboration paradigm serves as a valuable reference for the Southeast Asian market.”
