Singapore — Weber Shandwick has appointed Shashikanth Someshwar as chief executive officer of its India operations, effective October 1.
The agency employs more than 150 staff across Mumbai, Gurgaon, and Bengaluru, with India among the company’s fastest-growing markets in the Asia Pacific region.
Commenting on his appointment, Someshwar said, “The promotion is both a personal milestone and a reflection of the incredible journey we have taken as a team. India’s communications landscape is evolving rapidly, and Weber Shandwick is uniquely positioned to help clients seize the opportunities ahead.”
Someshwar also shared that his focus will be on strengthening partnerships, embracing innovation, and empowering impact.
His previous roles include leading both corporate and consumer agency practices. He has also served as the interim Managing Director of India since earlier this year. In that role, he worked with the senior leadership team on client strategy, market growth, and team development.
Moreover, Tyler Kim, Weber Shandwick CEO for Asia Pacific, also commented on Someshwar’s appointment in India, sharing how the country is not only one of the fastest growing markets in the Asia Pacific, but is also one of the most influential.
“Shashi’s leadership will ensure that Weber Shandwick continues to be at the forefront of this growth, helping clients navigate change with creativity, innovation, and meaningful impact. His promotion is a critical step in strengthening our leadership bench as we accelerate our regional ambitions,” added Tyler.
