Bangkok, Thailand – The Pavilions Hotels and Resorts has appointed Tom Thrussell as its new chief marketing officer, marking a new leadership move as the boutique hotel brand looks to strengthen its global marketing strategy and brand growth.
In the role, Thrussell will be based in Thailand and will oversee the company’s global marketing function. He will help shape the next phase of the brand’s development across its portfolio of boutique hotels in Asia and Europe.
Thrussell shared the update in a recent LinkedIn post, reflecting on his decade-long tenure at Centara Hotels & Resorts before moving to the new role.
“After a wonderful 10+ years with Centara Hotels & Resorts, a new chapter has begun. I’m hugely grateful for the opportunities, the experiences, and most of all the people who made that time so special, and very proud of everything we achieved together,” he wrote.
He added that he is “incredibly happy” to have joined The Pavilions Hotels and Resorts, describing its portfolio of locally rooted, award-winning boutique properties as “a marketer’s dream.”
Prior to the appointment, Thrussell served as vice president of marketing at Centara Hotels & Resorts, where he led the company’s end-to-end marketing strategy across branding, digital performance, communications, and customer service.
During his tenure, he was part of the executive leadership team that supported Centara’s expansion from 50 hotels across four brands in seven countries to 92 hotels spanning six brands in 14 countries.
Before joining Centara, Thrussell held marketing leadership roles at Maybourne Hotel Group and American Express.
His appointment comes as The Pavilions Hotels and Resorts continues to expand its presence globally, with Thrussell set to lead marketing initiatives aimed at strengthening brand positioning and driving growth across the group’s international portfolio.
