Manila, Philippines – National Book Store has teamed up with Leron Leron Sinta for a nationwide campaign called ‘The National Hunt’, which turns book shopping into an interactive scavenger hunt. Special prizes have been hidden inside selected books across National Book Store branches.
The initiative aims to encourage young people to rediscover the enjoyment of reading in a time when online content often dominates their attention. To help reach a Gen Z audience, the campaign features former Pinoy Big Brother housemates Mika Salamanca, Josh Ford, Kira Balinger, Esnyr Ranollo, Will Ashley, and Ralph de Leon, collectively known as the National Book Squad.
The group is participating by hiding books in various stores and posting clues to their followers on social media. Organisers say the combination of digital engagement and in-store discovery is intended to make reading more exciting and interactive. Fans have begun following the Squad’s online hints to locate the hidden books.
“Gen Zs love being part of a community, and that’s what the National Hunt is all about. We want to bring people together to share the thrill of discovery at the National Book Store,” said Adrian Ramos, group president at National Book Store.
Prizes for participants include an Apple iPad, flight vouchers, and a DJI Osmo 3. Clues are currently available on the National Book Squad’s social media channels.
