Hong Kong – TBWA Hong Kong, part of Omnicom Advertising, has named Mike Choy and William Chow as joint creative partners, marking a new chapter in leadership for the Disruption® agency.
Under the new structure, Mike Choy has been elevated to creative partner to join William Chow, who already holds the role.
Mike, one of Hong Kong’s most awarded brand identity and experiential design specialists, is known for creating immersive brand worlds that bridge digital and physical experiences. Over the past 17 years, his human-centric design approach has shaped widely recognised campaigns for clients including Starbucks, Hennessy, Lee Jeans, Wrangler, and Lexus.
He also heads Design by Disruption (DXD), TBWA’s bespoke design unit, leading a multi-disciplinary team of artists, designers, and makers to deliver experience-led solutions that blend technology, space, and storytelling.
William Chow brings more than two decades of experience in strategic and emotionally driven storytelling. A two-time Grand Effie winner, his work has also received recognition across major creative awards. He has led campaigns in Hong Kong and across Asia for brands such as Standard Chartered, adidas, Visa, LG, and Alipay.
Together, Choy and Chow will support TBWA Hong Kong general manager Ida Mak, sharing responsibility for the creative department’s day-to-day operations and the development of the agency’s culture-shaping, disruptive ideas. The partnership combines complementary strengths in design, storytelling, and strategy.
Both creative partners will report directly to John Koay, Omnicom Advertising Hong Kong’s newly appointed creative chief officer, who will oversee creative direction and champion new client opportunities across the agency group.
“William brings sharp thinking and real clarity to the work, with a strong feel for the stories that genuinely connect. Mike’s strength is creating these amazing brand experiences – blending creative instinct with deep tech understanding. Together, they represent a bright and balanced future for TBWA HK. It’s going to be fun to be a part of,” Koay commented.
These appointments reinforce TBWA Hong Kong’s creative capabilities and signal a new chapter for the agency within Omnicom Advertising’s expanded Hong Kong operations.
Commenting about the leadership announcement, William said, “I’m incredibly excited to be stepping into this role alongside Mike. We’ve always shared a belief that the best ideas sit at the intersection of strategy, storytelling and craft. This partnership allows us to collaborate more closely, push each other and our talented teams to innovate further, and ultimately deliver more meaningful and effective work for our clients.”
Mike added, “This new structure gives us the opportunity to push Disruption at TBWA Hong Kong to another level. We are excited about the new possibilities from being part of the Omnicom Advertising family and believe with our new structure and capabilities we are strengthened as a comprehensive and future-facing creative partner for brands.”
