Digital Turbine expands India operations with new leadership appointments

Mumbai, India — Digital Turbine, Inc., a platform known for enhancing mobile user experiences through advanced technology, has appointed Shilpa Sadana as country manager for India and Akul Vijay as senior sales manager for New Delhi to strengthen its foothold in the Indian market.

India, recognised as one of the world’s largest and fastest-growing smartphone markets, is a key focus for Digital Turbine, which currently has its technology operating on more than 19 million devices in the country. 

The company aims to improve the mobile user journey in India by offering seamless app discovery experiences, following its recent exclusive partnership with Alcatel in June 2025 and ongoing efforts to expand its brand and agency business within the region.

James Rogers, VP of brands for APAC at Digital Turbine, said, “Shilpa and Akul are great additions to our team as we continue to scale our brand business in India. India is a key market for us, with a rapidly expanding ecosystem of brands and agencies investing in mobile.

James added that Shilpa and Akul bring deep expertise in media and advertising, as well as a strong track record in building trusted relationships.

“Their leadership and networks will be instrumental as we strengthen our presence in India and work with partners to create premium mobile advertising experiences at scale,” James concluded.

Based in Mumbai, Shilpa Sadana has over ten years of experience in media, entertainment, and advertising technology. She will lead Digital Turbine’s operations in India, while Akul Vijay, who is equipped with more than eight years of experience in digital media and partnerships, will manage the company’s activities in New Delhi.

Before joining Digital Turbine, Shilpa served as sales director at mCanvas, where she developed strategic partnerships and increased revenue in mobile advertising. She also held various roles at Sony Pictures from 2015 to 2021, leading projects related to content monetisation and market expansion. 

Shilpa commented, “Digital Turbine’s presence continues to grow in India, and I am excited to be part of the journey to drive growth for our brands and advertiser clients.”

On the other hand, Akul Vijay has extensive experience in digital advertising sales and has collaborated with leading brands, clients, and media agencies across North India. His role will focus on key clients and media agencies, delivering tailored advertising solutions.

“I am excited to work closely with advertisers and media agencies, supporting their growth and navigating the fast-evolving digital landscape with Digital Turbine’s advanced technology and data-driven strategies. By focusing on deepening client relationships and agency partnerships, we aim to deliver outstanding value and impact in the region,” Akul added.
