Manila, Philippines – Google has appointed Prep Palacios as its new country manager for the Philippines, where she will lead the company’s strategy and advertising portfolio in the market.
As country manager, Palacios will oversee efforts to help businesses and organisations navigate developments in artificial intelligence and video commerce through platforms such as Google Search and YouTube.
“I’m excited to help brands and communities succeed in the AI era by harnessing the full power of Google’s ecosystem—from Search to YouTube,” said Palacios. “By combining our strong foundation in Search with the rapid growth of YouTube Shopping, we can enable businesses to scale faster, drive measurable results, and reinforce the Philippines’ position as Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing digital economy.”
In her new role, Palacios will report to Sapna Chadha, vice president for Southeast Asia and South Asia Frontier at Google.
“Prep steps into the role of country manager for Google Philippines at a pivotal moment, as Search—now supercharged by Gemini—and YouTube Shopping transform how businesses engage audiences and unlock growth,” said Chadha.
Chadha added, “The Philippines is one of Southeast Asia’s most dynamic digital economies—young, AI-curious, and video-first. With Prep’s proven leadership and deep commitment to empowering brands and Filipino companies, she is well-positioned to champion Google’s continued growth and impact for the country and the region.”
Palacios has more than 20 years of experience in the technology sector, with expertise in sales, business strategy, and digital transformation. She has spent the past eight years at Google scaling its advertising business, following a 12-year tenure at Microsoft in roles covering channels, distribution, and the small and medium-sized business segment. Earlier in her career, she also worked in consulting at Oracle, Ernst & Young, and Siemens.
Google said it already works with major brands and local businesses in the Philippines, including CocoTea, McDonald’s, ChowKing, and UnionBank. The company aims to deepen its partnerships under Palacios’ leadership.
