Singapore – PHD, an Omnicom Media Group (OMG) agency, has been appointed to handle health club operator Virgin Active’s media business in Singapore and Thailand. The appointment comes following a competitive pitch process.
PHD is set to provide full-funnel media strategy, planning, buying, and performance management for Virgin Active. This covers digital, social, search, offline media, and data analytics.
Taking up the mandate starting July 1, PHD will also collaborate with Virgin Active’s in-house teams. It will support the company’s activations and audience planning.
Eileen Ooi, CEO at PHD APAC, said, “This win is a testament to the strength and seamless integration of PHD APAC’s network. Like Virgin Active, PHD shares a passion for transformative growth and continuous innovation. We look forward to building on the synergy we have established, leveraging our data and technology to power strategies and innovations to drive meaningful business outcomes for Virgin Active.”
Joanne Lim, head of marketing for Southeast Asia at Virgin Active, commented, “PHD stood out with its strategic clarity, data-led planning approach, and strong regional collaboration across Singapore and Thailand. Their focus on driving real business outcomes beyond just media KPIs mirrors our commitment to building meaningful consumer connections. We are confident that, together with PHD, we can navigate and succeed in this evolving media landscape.”
Last year, Virgin Active collaborated with advertising agency We Are Pi to launch its ‘Leave the Cult, Join the Club’ global campaign. The campaign condemned ‘fakefluencers’ spreading misleading wellness claims.
