India – McDonald’s India, in collaboration with DDB Mudra Group, has turned a viral Instagram reel into a heartwarming brand moment—recreating a hand-drawn fries box made by a husband for his wife and delivering it as a surprise to the couple.
The reel, posted by content creators @patnijipatikijodi, captured widespread attention on social media. It features a husband preparing fries for his wife and crafting a McDonald’s fries box entirely by hand—a gesture that resonated with viewers and quickly gained traction online.
In response, McDonald’s India sent the couple a complimentary meal in custom-made packaging that mirrored the husband’s hand-drawn design. The gesture, conceptualised and executed by DDB Mudra, was delivered to the couple at Siliguri.
The couple followed up with a second reel, this time highlighting the personalised fries packaging. The post received overwhelmingly positive feedback, with viewers praising the brand’s thoughtful engagement and personal touch.
The activation exemplifies how brands are increasingly tapping into organic moments to create authentic connections, turning everyday gestures into opportunities for meaningful interaction.
