Singapore – Maybank Singapore has announced its appointment of advertising agency Arena Media Singapore as its media agency of record. The appointment takes effect immediately.

Following the appointment, Arena Media Singapore will be spearheading Maybank Singapore’s integrated and digital media planning and buying strategies, aiming to enhance brand presence and facilitate meaningful consumer engagement. 

Leroy Lim, general manager of Arena Media Singapore, expressed his team’s excitement on the collaboration with Maybank Singapore. 

“Our team is eager to leverage our digital expertise to support Maybank’s efforts in forging greater consumer connections, and broadening their reach in the local market,” he added.
 
Maybank Singapore’s appointment serves as another addition to Arena Media’s list of clients, as the agency also currently serves as the media agency of record in Singapore for AIA, Dolce and Gabbana, Inchcape, Kaplan, Moomoo, and Far East Organization.

Singapore Sprinklr, a unified customer experience management platform, announced Scott Harvey’s appointment as the executive vice president of customer operations. Harvey will report directly to Ragy Thomas, the founder and CEO of Sprinklr, in his new position.

In his new position, he will oversee and lead the company’s executive leadership team, where he will have the responsibility of improving and streamlining operations that deal with customers, from pre-sales solution consulting to post-sales customer success and ongoing services.

Harvey is transferring from Stripe, where he served as the global head of technical sales and services, to Sprinklr. In this role, he oversaw pre- and post-sales teams focused on increasing customer adoption and usage of Stripe’s product offerings, which significantly increased revenue.

Prior to joining Stripe, Harvey held a number of important executive positions at ServiceNow, Inc., where he spent more than six years as senior vice president of solution sales and senior vice president of solution consulting. During his term, ServiceNow, Inc. underwent growth and expansion, with revenue surging from $425 million to $4.5 billion and the company’s workforce expanding from 1,800 to 13,000 employees.

Tokyo, Japan – Global digital advertising platform GumGum announced their reinforcement towards the Japanese market by appointing seasoned digital media executive, Kenzo Selby as GumGum Japan’s managing director to lead its growing business in the area.

In his new role, Selby will be growing GumGum’s brand presence in the market, as well as deepening its relationships with brands, agencies, and publishers to embrace a mindset-first, cookie-less solution.

Notably, Selby and the Japanese team will be spearheading GumGum’s ‘The Mindset Matrix’, a concept that pushes brands to leave behavioural targeting behind by helping to pinpoint environments that drive the most attention and aligning ad creative to capture a consumer’s frame of mind, resulting in brand lift and boosted outcomes.

Selby joins GumGum after more than six years of driving growth for Teads in Japan as head of sales, leading a 14 person strong sales team. Prior to Teads, Kenzo was a sales leader at AOL’s BeOn. He also brings a wealth of business management and financial acumen from experience gathered at Ernst & Young and other accounting firms where he focused on Japanese corporations doing business in Australia.

Selby will replace outgoing managing director, Naokazu Wakaguri, who has driven the growth of the business in Japan for five years. Wakaguri will support Selby in a transition period through the end of the year before leaving GumGum to pursue personal projects at the start of 2024.

India – Posterscope, the OOH specialist agency from dentsu India, has announced the appointment of Pallavi Patil as vice president-strategy to oversee clients nationally and empower strategy across out-of-home, retail, activation, and rural marketing verticals.

In her new role, she will focus on delivering a fresh perspective on the agency’s strategic expertise combined with a rich blend of innovation to clients in the OOH space. 

Pallavi will align with Posterscope’s global vision, addressing complicated issues with simple, strategic, human-centric solutions. She will report to Imtiyaz Vilatra, managing director at Posterscope India.

Prior to joining dentsu, Pallavi led strategy in Madison OOH as their AVP. She has a career spanning over 18 years and has worked with Kinetic Worldwide (GroupM), TNS (Kantar), Nielsen, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), and Force Motors.

Over the years, she has carved out expertise in marketing, research, and media strategy. She has also worked on some recognised and awarded OOH campaigns.

Singapore – International advertising agency dentsu has announced the appointment of Clay Schouest as chief strategy officer for client and solutions in APAC to handle the agency’s client portfolio in the region. 

Schouest is back in Asia and with dentsu after five years in Europe. As a dentsu veteran, he spent 11 years at the agency working on strategy roles in Shanghai, Singapore, and London.

In his newly created role, he will be based in Singapore and will lead the strategy and vision for dentsu’s client portfolio, building integrated, end-to-end solutions that deliver client revenue growth, profitability, and satisfaction.

Prior to his appointment, he served as the global strategy director for communications for Reckitt in 2021.

Schouest brings with him a unique experience after having worked in key markets across the world, including New York, London, Amsterdam, and Shanghai. He has devoted his career to building strategies that merge media and creativity, working with prolific brands including Coca-Cola, Unilever, P&G, Diageo, and L’Oreal.

Singapore – Communications advisory firm Brewer has announced its strategic partnership with communications agency Cyan to strengthen its regional reach and specialised offering with market expansion in China.

Manila, Philippines – Global technology company SHAREit has announced its appointment of Chay Mondejar-Saputil as country director for the Philippines.

In line with SHAREit’s growing expansion within the ASEAN region, her appointment seeks to shore up the various offerings and business solutions that the company has to offer within the region.

Prior to her appointment, Mondejar-Saputil has more than a decade of knowledge and experience within the industry, having previously been the vertical lead of the ecommerce and retail side of Meta. While in this role, she has been responsible for managing the team across a mixed portfolio of businesses covering multiple industries, as well as driving product development to include the needs of omnichannel retailers in Southeast Asia.

Apart from the aforementioned roles, she was also the primary external representative of Meta and board member at IMMAP (Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines) – the premier organisation for influencing local industry policies on digital marketing, while also being the primary representative at the Philippine Retailers Association.

Japan McCann Worldgroup Japan announced the appointment of leadership within its agency brands, McCann and Craft. Takashi Aoki will join McCann Erickson Japan Inc. and Craft Worldwide Inc. as representative director and president, taking effect on October 1, 2023. 

Aoki will be under the direct supervision of Ji Watson, the CEO of McCann Worldgroup Japan. He will collaborate closely with the regional and global network to lead the Japanese teams in delivering impactful solutions to help clients expand their businesses.

Aoki brings over two decades of experience as a strategic thinker in the realms of marketing, branding, and customer experience from his previous position as managing director of Media.Monks Tokyo. Throughout his career, Aoki has contributed to a diverse portfolio of global and domestic brands in industries such as FMCG, luxury, cosmetics, tech platforms, automobiles, tourism, pharmaceuticals, and food and beverage. He has worked for Dentsu Y&R Tokyo, J. Walter Thompson Japan, J. Walter Thompson Shanghai, Publicis Groupe, and Saatchi & Saatchi Tokyo.

Singapore Ogury, a global personalsed advertising company, has appointed Wilfried Schobeiri as its new chief technology officer. In this role, Schobeiri will work closely with Ogury’s executive team to improve and strengthen the business’s unique technology platform.

In his new role, he will be in charge of the company’s strategic technology vision implementation, improving its cookieless and ID-less solution at an important time in the market. He will be based in Paris, report directly to Ogury CEO Geoffroy Martin, and join the executive committee of the business.

With 20 years of experience in the technology sector, Schobeiri has a track record of managing large-scale, international technology projects and effective product development teams. He was the chief technology officer at Banyan, a fintech and data infrastructure company, before he joined Ogury. Prior to that, he served as senior vice president and chief product officer at Revantage, where he oversaw the creation of the product for Blackstone’s platform for real estate data.

During his time at MediaMath, Schobeiri held the positions of chief technology officer and chief product officer, where he oversaw the company’s global efforts in product strategy and technology development. 

Schobeiri was a board member for the IAB Tech Lab while working for various companies. A key contributor to the creation of the IAB Europe’s Transparency & Consent Framework during his tenure, he helped the industry establish a common language for expressing consumer preferences regarding the use of their data for advertising purposes. 

Additionally, he has served as the board chairman for several adtech and data companies, including Ocient, Ergatta, and Truthset. He is still doing this today, continuing to provide his knowledge to help them grow.  

Speaking about his appointment, Schobeiri said, “I’m excited to join Ogury because we are one of the few adtech companies that have fully embraced the technical shifts in the privacy landscape. A true precursor of change, Ogury anticipated market needs to provide advertisers with performance and relevance without collecting personal data, and I’m proud to be a part of that.”

United Kingdom Patrick Béhar has been appointed as the new global CEO of Kantar Media, a division of Kantar Group Holdings,which will take effect in September 2023. He will be in charge of a company that conducts media research and audience measurement on a global scale in this capacity.

Chris Allen, who led the executive team since 2022, will now focus exclusively on his role as global CFO of Kantar Media.

Béhar has 25 years of experience in the media industry, is the chief business officer of Sky Group, a media company and pay-TV broadcaster in Europe and a Comcast subsidiary. In this role, Béhar has been in charge of managing and improving Sky’s partnerships with content and distribution partners, as well as playing a role in increasing Sky Media’s advertising revenue.

Speaking about his appointment, Béhar said, “Media markets are undergoing unprecedented transformation, accelerated by new technologies and changing audience behaviours.
