Singapore – Canon Singapore is celebrating the 20th edition of its annual Canon PhotoMarathon by expanding the event into a three-day festival designed to bring together photographers, creators, hobbyists, gamers, artists, and families.
Dubbed Your Canon Event, the free public festival will run from 23 to 25 July at Urban Park @ Guoco Tower, with the first two days dedicated to maker-focused activities before culminating in the landmark 20th edition of the Canon PhotoMarathon.
The initiative reflects Canon’s broader effort to position itself beyond photography by engaging a wider community of creators through hands-on workshops, creative experiences, and interactive activities.
Visitors can participate in workshops led by local communities, including plant styling sessions with Soilboy, miniature painting and Dungeons & Dragons workshops by TableMinis, scrapbooking sessions hosted by Marian Carmel, and pet photography workshops.
Canon will also offer guided photowalks and provide cameras and printers for attendees to try throughout the festival.
To encourage exploration, attendees can collect stamps from activity stations and redeem limited-edition collectible cards, with those completing the full set entering a draw to win a Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark III.
The festival culminates on 25 July with the 20th Canon PhotoMarathon, which this year will be open to participants using any camera brand.
Entrants in the Open and Student categories will compete across three photography challenges, with themes revealed on the day and more than S$50,000 worth of Canon products up for grabs.
Marking another first for the competition, Canon is introducing a video category, allowing participants to shoot and edit their entries using smartphones.
The video theme will be announced on 23 July, with submissions accepted throughout the day before winners are revealed alongside the photography categories on 25 July.
According to Too Kok Yong, Head of Singapore Operations Group at Canon Singapore, the anniversary event reflects the company’s philosophy of kyosei, or living and working together for the common good.
“The 20th edition of the Canon PhotoMarathon is a significant milestone that belongs to Singapore’s photography community as much as it belongs to Canon,” Too said.

“Your Canon Event is an invitation to anyone who makes things seriously, in whatever form it takes. We hope to bring together creators and makers from all walks of life to inspire one another and discover that Canon has a place in their world too.”
Registration for both the workshops and Canon PhotoMarathon is now open.
