Lifebuoy taps fluid football allegiances in Indonesia with ‘Tiba Tiba Fans’ campaign

Indonesia — Lifebuoy and creative agency frank. has launched “Tiba Tiba Fans,” a FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign in Indonesia that celebrates the often unexpected reasons football fans switch their team allegiances during the tournament.

Created as part of Lifebuoy’s partnership with the FIFA World Cup 2026, the campaign is built on a cultural insight that while Indonesians are passionate football supporters, many are open to changing the teams they support as the competition unfolds.

The campaign features a series of six episodic films, each exploring a different reason behind changing loyalties. The stories range from fans supporting a rival team because of romance to helping family members reconnect with their favourite teams, highlighting the personal and emotional moments that influence football fandom.

Rather than portraying team switching as disloyal, the campaign positions it as a natural part of the football experience, reflecting how fans often connect with teams through relationships, memories, work dynamics, superstition, and other everyday situations.

Supporting the campaign is a limited-edition range of Lifebuoy body wash products inspired by four globally popular football teams, offering buyers a chance to win official merchandise, gadgets, shopping vouchers, or a trip to the US to watch FIFA World Cup matches live.

frank. Singapore shared in a LinkedIn post, “As we enter the business end of the FIFA World Cup 2026™, switching team loyalties has become a new normal — and nobody knows this better than Indonesian fans. Lifebuoy’s “Tiba Tiba Fans” campaign celebrates exactly that: the very human reasons we suddenly find ourselves supporting a new team.”

By combining football culture with humour and everyday human behaviour, “Tiba Tiba Fans” aims to strengthen Lifebuoy’s connection with Indonesian consumers during one of the world’s biggest sporting events while driving engagement.
