Hong Kong – WPP Media Hong Kong has appointed Adrian Lee as Chief Client and Operating Officer, as it looks to strengthen client leadership and drive operational excellence across the business.
Adrian joins with experience across agency and in-house roles in Asia and Europe. He started his career at WPP in London before taking on senior digital and leadership roles in Jakarta and Hong Kong. He later moved to Dentsu before returning to WPP in regional positions across Asia.
He subsequently transitioned client-side, joining the South China Morning Post, where he led marketing transformation initiatives, and later Manulife, where he helped build and scale a centralised APAC performance marketing function. Most recently, he has been advising organisations on capability building and operating model transformation.
“I’m pleased to be returning to WPP at a time when the industry is undergoing fundamental change. There is a clear opportunity to rethink how media drives growth, and I’m excited to work with the team in Hong Kong to help clients navigate this next phase,” Adrian shared.
The appointment comes as WPP Media Hong Kong continues to adjust its structure following WPP’s global rebrand of GroupM into WPP Media last year. The business has made a series of senior hires as part of efforts to streamline operations and respond to shifting client demands around data, AI and performance.
Effective 13 April, Adrian will report to Michael Beecroft, CEO of WPP Media North East Asia, and will work alongside Silas Ho, Senior Vice President for Client Leadership in Hong Kong.
Commenting on the appointment, Michael said, “Hong Kong plays a critical role for WPP Media, not just as a local market, but as a hub for multi‑market and regional work, including China outbound. Adrian brings the right experience and perspective to help us connect strategy, modern media delivery and measurable performance outcomes as we continue to expand the scope and scale of what we do from Hong Kong.”
His appointment forms part of the company’s broader hiring efforts to strengthen client leadership and performance capabilities. Recent additions include Human Lam as Vice President for Client Leadership, as the business continues to evolve its operating model and service offering.
