John Mescall named new global chief creative partner at Dentsu Creative

United States – Dentsu Creative has appointed John Mescall as its new global chief creative partner, a move that signals the network’s continued focus on creative development at an international level.

Mescall, who will be based in New York, will work alongside Yasu Sasaki, global chief creative officer at Dentsu, to strengthen creative alignment across markets. His remit includes supporting the network’s global creative community, integrating emerging technologies such as AI into creative workflows, and fostering talent development across regions.

“What drew me to Dentsu Creative is its deep belief in the power of creativity to drive meaningful impact across the board,” said Mescall. “It’s rare to find a global organisation so aligned in purpose, yet so attuned to the unique strengths of its local teams. Mescall brings a long track record of creative leadership, previously serving as global executive creative director and president of the global creative council at McCann Worldgroup, as well as chief creative officer of McCann Melbourne. 

“John’s creative legacy speaks for itself, but what excites us most is his ability to unite teams around a shared vision,” said Abbey Klaassen, global president of Dentsu Creative. 

“He knows how to translate big ideas across markets, unlocking the strongest creative thinking from each region.
