India – Online language learning platform instrucko in India has partnered with public relations agency Alphabet Media to be its new communications partner.

Instrucko specializes in teaching various languages including English, French, Spanish, and Hindi. It also offers public speaking and creative writing to children from the age of three to fifteen years. 

As part of the partnership, Team Alphabet will be responsible for handling the strategic communications and media relations for the platform.

Devvaki Aggarwal, the co-founder and CEO of instrucko, commented, “We are looking forward to working with Alphabet Media and are looking forward to a strong partnership. Our common love for storytelling is what makes this partnership exciting.”

Meanwhile, Alphabet Media’s Founder Tejal Daftary, commented that ed-tech is definitely an upcoming domain and to be the PR partner for Instrucko, which is a unique education platform, feels amazing. 

“Our main objective would remain to continue to help the brand grow as we communicate their story to the media and further strengthen their popularity as a go-to platform for kids and young adults,” said Daftary.

Just recently, Alphabet Media has also announced a partnership with global luxury vehicles company Maserati in India and was tasked to handle its strategic planning, media relations, and digital campaigns, as well as providing integrated communication solutions.

Sydney, Australia – Comparison platform Finder has appointed former head of public relations and communications of its ANZ operations Bessie Hassan to now take the helm as the company’s global head of communications.

Aside from her previous role in Finder ANZ, Hassan has worked as a freelance journalist and public relations consultant, with bylines from various publications such as The Australian, The Sydney Morning Herald, Marie Claire, and InStyle among others. She has also served as communications officer for the Randwick City Council and as vice president for New South Wales at the Public Relations Institute of Australia.

In an interview with MARKETECH APAC, Hassan stated that in her new role, she will be responsible for establishing and leading an integrated communications strategy to grow Finder’s corporate footprint, thought leadership, and credibility across all of Finder’s markets. This will include external and internal communications, corporate social responsibility (CSR), public affairs, employer brand, and risk and reputation management. 

Hassan’s promotion comes after Finder’s recent acquisition of Singapore-born financial services platform GoBear to drive its growth in the Southeast Asia region, months after GoBear announced shutting down its operations.

“As Finder continues to grow, I will work closely with the founders and executive team to establish a brand presence in all its markets. Our goal is to help people make better financial decisions every day – by helping people save, invest and grow their wealth – and we believe we have a strong role to play in doing this in Southeast Asia,” Hassan shared with MARKETECH APAC.

In regards to her appointment, she said, “The last six years at Finder have been a blast and now I’m so excited to be sharing Finder’s mission with the rest of the world.”

Finder has yet to find a replacement to lead the communications branch for ANZ.

Australia – Basketball Australia (BA) has recently appointed Jo Juler, former head of marketing of Tennis Australia, to be its new executive general manager for marketing, communications, and digital.

Juler brings with her more than 20 years of experience in the marketing industry. She also has a wealth of executive-level experience at high-profile international and domestic sporting bodies, including Tennis Australia, Melbourne and Olympic Parks, and Melbourne Football Club. In her new role, Juler will be leading the governing body’s marketing, communications, and digital team, working with internal and external stakeholders to drive BA’s growth agenda as identified in the organization’s new four-year strategic plan.

According to Carolyn Campbell, the interim CEO of Basketball Australia, they are delighted to welcome Juler to the organization, as her appointment is truly important for Basketball Australia.

Campbell believes that Juler will bring an enormous amount of industry experience to Basketball Australia, where she has a strong record of delivering outstanding results and joins the organization at an exciting time for the sport.

“As a sport and as an organization, we have a huge amount of untapped potential which is reflected in our new strategic plan, and we are thrilled to have Jo on board to support the implementation and delivery of this strategy,” said Campbell.
