Indonesia – Nickelodeon Play Center has officially opened in two locations in Indonesia, following a licensing agreement between PLAY Culture Co., Ltd., PT Tematik Makmur Abadi, and Paramount to develop and operate the new family entertainment spaces.
The centres introduce five themed worlds based on Nickelodeon franchises—SpongeBob SquarePants, PAW Patrol, DORA, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Garfield—offering interactive zones designed for young families in Jakarta.
The flagship site, Nickelodeon Playtime Senayan Park (SPARK), marks the first Nickelodeon-themed play centre in Southeast Asia. Targeted at children aged 3–9, the venue combines physical play areas, digital interactives, and custom thematic sets. Attractions include soft play structures, climbing activities, role-play zones, arts and crafts, interactive games, retail areas, themed dining, and character meet-and-greet sessions.
A second venue, Nickelodeon Playtime: PAW Patrol, is set to open at Carstensz Mall in Gading Serpong. The location, described as the first PAW Patrol-themed entertainment project in Asia, will allow visitors to explore Adventure Bay through role-playing activities and hands-on challenges.
Under the agreement, PT Tematik Makmur Abadi will act as the exclusive developer and operator of Nickelodeon Playtime Play Centers across Indonesia.
“As a licensing partner of Nickelodeon Playtime Play Centers in Indonesia, PT Tematik Makmur Abadi is proud to bring world-class immersive entertainment experiences to families across the country,” said Rey Wilfred, director of PT Tematik Makmur Abadi.
“We also curate and stock a wide range of premium toys, collectibles, artwork, and creative merchandise sourced from authorised local and international manufacturers. Our goal is not only to enrich the play experience within our centres but also to support the retail ecosystem, entertainment, and brand activation initiatives in Indonesia,” he added.
Play Culture Co., Ltd president Linda Dong noted the region’s rising demand for family-orientated experiences, particularly within malls seeking fresh engagement drivers.
“Following the success of our first Play Center in Shenzhen in 2020, we are excited to partner with Nickelodeon to bring this innovative concept to more families in the region. The launch of Nickelodeon Playtime is a key part of our strategy to meet that demand and strengthen Play Culture’s position as an industry leader,” said Dong.
