Bangkok, Thailand – Thai telecoms operator AIS has partnered ReelShort to bring the short-drama platform into Southeast Asia, bundling content with 5G access in a push to deepen its digital offerings.
“Southeast Asia is one of the most exciting and competitive mobile entertainment markets globally,” said Joey Jia, Chief Executive of Crazy Maple Studio.
Jia added, “Launching with a true industry powerhouse like AIS allows us to bring premium, mobile-first storytelling to millions of Thai consumers.”
The tie-up, ReelShort’s first with a telecoms firm in the region, centres on a “5G ReelShort” add-on priced at 39 baht ($1.05) a month.
The package gives AIS subscribers ad-free access to the platform’s full library alongside high-speed connectivity.
For AIS, the partnership signals a broader shift beyond connectivity, as operators across the region bundle content to drive user spending in the 5G race.
“This partnership with ReelShort reflects AIS’s commitment to building a seamless Digital Ecosystem that integrates both network and content,” said Lertchai Kodsup, Chief Mobile Business Officer at AIS.
ReelShort enters Thailand with nearly 3,000 titles, including Bound By Honor and True Heiress vs. Fake Queen Bee, with a growing slate of Thai-dubbed and subtitled content.
The companies will back the launch with a nationwide campaign, marking ReelShort’s largest marketing push in Southeast Asia to date.
