Philippines — AIA Philippines and the Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. (KCFI), in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd), have launched ‘Gen H: Generation Healthy’, a new educational video series aimed at encouraging Filipino students to build healthier habits from an early age.
The series, which premiered on October 06, will air every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday on Knowledge Channel and its digital platforms, bringing the AIA Healthiest Schools (AHS) curriculum to life through interactive video lessons covering topics such as nutrition, physical activity, mental wellness, and environmental care.
The initiative is designed to make health education more engaging and accessible for students in more than 10,000 public schools across the country.
The launch event took place at Naga Central School II, attended by Naga City mayor Leni Robredo, representatives from DepEd, executives from AIA Philippines and KCFI, members of the local government, and students and teachers from the community. Attendees participated in interactive activities and viewed an exclusive teaser of the ‘Gen H’ series.
“With Gen H, we’re helping shape a generation that’s not only health-conscious but also community-minded and environmentally aware,” said Melissa Henson, AIA Philippines chief marketing officer. “We’re especially grateful to the City of Naga for welcoming Gen H. Launching the programme in a city known for its leadership, strong education initiatives, focus on health, and deep sense of community empowers young Filipinos to make small, smart choices every day—choices that can lead to Healthier, Longer, Better Lives.”
Melissa added that through their partnership with the Knowledge Channel Foundation were able to reach more students, allowing engagement and informative content that ‘inspires action and builds lifelong habits’.
Moreover, Rina Lopez, co-founder, president, and executive director of KCFI, said, “We at KCFI aim to turn health education into a powerful force for change. By bringing it into classrooms and homes across the country, we’re planting the seeds of lifelong wellness and shared responsibility—starting with our children and extending it to communities.”
Mayor Robredo also thanked both AIA Philippines and KCFI for introducing the initiative in Naga City. “We join you in your call for more effective educational materials for our students. As parents and teachers, we share one dream: to have healthy children—not just physically, but also mentally and emotionally. As they say, it’s like we’re holding a ball: if we are healthy, our pass will be better, improving the game for the entire team, the family, the barangay, and the community,” she said.
The Naga event also marked the start of the ‘Gen H School Roadshow’, which will visit schools nationwide to promote health, wellness, and environmental awareness among students.
Earlier this year, AIA Philippines and KCFI signed a memorandum of agreement to formalise their partnership in delivering the AIA Healthiest Schools programme to more learners across the country. As part of this collaboration, Knowledge Channel produced nine ten-minute episodes focused on topics such as healthy eating, active living, and mental wellness, developed with input from DepEd and aligned with AIA’s ‘Rethink Healthy’ campaign.
The ‘Gen H’ lessons will be distributed nationwide through Knowledge Channel’s television and online platforms, providing teachers with ready-to-use materials that can be integrated into classroom activities and accessed by students in even the most remote areas.
