Starbucks Fansipan opens doors to travellers seeking coffee in the clouds

Vietnam – Starbucks Vietnam has opened Starbucks Fansipan, the highest Starbucks coffeehouse in Asia, perched atop Fansipan Mountain to offer visitors a unique blend of coffee, local culture, and the stunning landscapes of northern Vietnam.

Located at Sân Mây within the Sun World Fansipan Legend complex, Starbucks Fansipan allows visitors to enjoy their favourite beverages while taking in panoramic views of the Sapa region. The coffeehouse combines the natural beauty of the mountains with a distinctive Starbucks experience unique to Vietnam.

The exterior draws on the colonial facades common in Sapa, with a sage-green finish accented by fluted local textiles, highlighting regional craftsmanship and creating a sense of discovery for arriving guests.

Meanwhile, the interior takes cues from the surrounding highlands, featuring deep and sage greens, warm beige tones, wood textures, and planted greenery to evoke a soft, greenhouse-like atmosphere. A custom sandblasted, colour-painted glass artwork above the bar reflects the contours of Fansipan and Vietnam’s coffee landscapes.

To mark the opening, Starbucks Vietnam has launched the Cloud Macchiato series (hot and iced), available across all stores from March 14 to 20. Inspired by clouds and sky, the drink layers fluffy cloud foam over smooth milk and bold espresso, finished with a caramel drizzle for a creamy, cloud-like texture.

Commenting on the launch, Chi Nguyen, public affairs manager of Starbucks Vietnam, said, “Starbucks coffeehouse at Fansipan peak is a milestone we are incredibly proud of at Starbucks Vietnam. Situated 3,063 metres above sea level, the coffeehouse is the highest Starbucks coffeehouse in Asia.”

Nguyen added, “This achievement reflects the continued support of our customers and partners. With its breathtaking location and a design that celebrates both local culture and the craft of Starbucks, this store will be must-visit destination for both travellers from Vietnam and around the world.”

Starbucks Fansipan is open Monday to Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
