Paris, France – Agence France-Presse (AFP) and Getty Images have renewed their long-term global content partnership, extending a collaboration that has shaped international visual journalism for more than two decades.
The multi-year agreement ensures newsrooms worldwide continue to receive premium, real-time coverage across news, sport, and entertainment, built on the combined strengths of two of the industry’s most trusted names.
Since 2003, AFP and Getty Images have worked together to deliver comprehensive and reliable visual reporting from every corner of the globe, at a time when authenticity and trust in imagery are under increasing pressure.
“AFP’s core mission of authentically documenting events as they break and unfold, from the ground where it all happens, is more important than ever in a world where pictures can be so easily manipulated. Our renewed partnership with Getty images ensures a wide distribution of an indispensable pictures offering for editorial clients,” said Patrice Monti, commercial and marketing director at AFP.
AFP’s International Photo Service draws on a global network of 450 photographers and the output of more than 70 partner agencies, producing award-winning photojournalism recognised annually at the highest international competitions.
“For almost 25 years, Getty Images and AFP have built a partnership for the benefit of editorial customers around the world rooted in journalistic excellence and an unrivalled depth and quality of coverage that is trusted,” said Ken Mainardis, global head of editorial at Getty Images.
Mainardis added, “We are proud to continue our longstanding partnership at a time when the value it brings has never been more important.”
Getty Images serves more than 700,000 customers globally, capturing visual coverage from over 160,000 news, sport, and entertainment events each year.
Its photographers are among the most decorated in the industry, with more than 1,600 major awards, including the Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Photography and World Press Photo, reinforcing the partnership’s shared commitment to visual truth at scale.
