Bangkok, Thailand – Wingstop has opened its 3,000th restaurant worldwide, marking a major milestone as the US-based chain accelerates its global expansion — including plans to soon launch in Thailand.
The company said it reached the 3,000-store threshold at a record pace, adding nearly 800 outlets and expanding its international footprint by 50% over the past two years. Wingstop recently entered six new markets — Australia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Puerto Rico, Saudi Arabia and The Netherlands — and now operates across 47 U.S. states and 15 countries.
Thailand is among the next markets in line, alongside Italy and Ireland, as the brand moves toward its long-term goal of surpassing 10,000 restaurants globally.
“With a record pipeline of sold restaurant commitments, Wingstop shows no sign of slowing down,” said Wingstop’s President & CEO, Michael Skipworth. “We’ve scaled from 2,000 to 3,000 restaurants in just over two years, with proven runway in our domestic and international businesses. This milestone demonstrates the strength of our brand, the whitespace ahead and the global craving for Wingstop’s bold flavor.”
The company said its development momentum continues to be supported by what it described as industry-leading cash-on-cash returns, noting that more than 70 existing franchise partners expanded their store portfolios in the most recent quarter.
