Singapore – VCCP has expanded its Asia-Pacific presence through the acquisition of GOVT, the holding company for Singapore-based agencies GOVT Singapore and digital agency Ministry, as part of its broader growth strategy in the region.
Following the acquisition, the combined entity will operate as GOVT VCCP, bringing together VCCP’s existing Singapore operations with GOVT Singapore and Ministry. The new structure is intended to blend VCCP’s global scale and resources with GOVT’s local market expertise and creative capabilities, positioning the business as a global-local offering for clients in Asia-Pacific.
The move is aimed at strengthening VCCP’s footprint in the region while aligning with its challenger mindset and ambition to disrupt traditional marketing models. The acquisition is also expected to support VCCP’s global client base and accelerate its expansion across Asia, with Singapore serving as a strategic hub for future growth.
Katya Obolensky, chief growth officer of GOVT VCCP, said, “In GOVT, we found the perfect match. From our first meeting, the synergy was undeniable and we are completely aligned in our creative DNA and our vision for the future. I am thrilled to join forces with Tim and his world-class team to drive growth and innovation across Singapore and the wider region.”
Tim Chan, CEO of GOVT VCCP, commented, “Merging with VCCP is like having a new big brother. Creatively and culturally, it’s comforting how much we’re alike. We’re thrilled to fly the VCCP flag in our part of the world, and being a part of a global network that is so impressive will be crucial to our continued growth.”
Operating under VCCP’s “one roof” integrated philosophy, GOVT VCCP will offer services spanning traditional advertising, data science, social and content, technology and AI, and consumer experience, all underpinned by a shared creative approach.
Julian Douglas, group CEO of VCCP, said, “GOVT shares our fundamental belief that the best work comes from challenging convention and bringing everything together under one roof. Tim, Aaron and the team have built an outstanding creative operation with genuine challenger spirit. Together we’ll create a powerhouse hub for Asia – combining VCCP’s global scale with deep local expertise to deliver work that truly works for clients across the region.”
The acquisition is expected to immediately establish a scaled, top-tier operation in Singapore, supporting VCCP’s ambitions for accelerated growth and deeper regional integration across Asia-Pacific.
