Bangkok, Thailand – Naples-grown and Michelin-starred L’Antica Pizzeria Da Michele is opening its newest branch in Bangkok.
The move marks the second Southeast Asian outpost for the 150-year-old Italian institution, famed as “the sacred temple of pizza,” and signals a thoughtful expansion led by co-owner and director Marcello Mazzotta.
“This is a brand that has stood for over a century because it stands for something real. It doesn’t ever chase trends,” says Mazzotta, who first introduced the pizzeria to Singapore in April 2024.
The Bangkok opening this October reflects Da Michele’s continued mission to serve heritage with heart.
“Bangkok shares with Singapore a deep love of food, and a respect for traditions that feel universal,” Mazzotta explains.
The new branch will replicate the same unwavering commitment to authenticity—recipes unchanged since the 19th century, ingredients sourced directly from Southern Italy, and pizzas crafted “a ruota di carro”, or wagon-wheel style, meant to be shared in true Neapolitan fashion.
Mazzotta’s vision extends beyond expansion for its own sake; it’s about preserving Michele Condurro’s legacy while introducing new diners to its warmth.
“We serve history, family, and a little piece of Naples,” Mazzotta reflects.
To mark both the Singapore anniversary and the upcoming Bangkok opening, Da Michele will host a special celebration in October featuring the pizzeria’s fifth-generation owner and master pizzaiolo.
