MBK Center taps traveller insights to showcase Thai culture with ‘Shop like a Thai’ campaign

Bangkok, Thailand — MBK Center has launched a new high-season tourism campaign, “Step into Thainess–Shop like a Thai”, turning traveller insights and global recognition into an authentic showcase of Thai shopping culture and soft power.

The campaign is anchored by a new video built from analysis of tourist behaviour and reviews, highlighting what visitors value most at MBK Center: the warmth of Thai hospitality, friendly bargaining, and cultural immersion alongside everyday shopping.

The initiative positions MBK Center as a cultural shopping destination during Thailand’s peak travel season, blending lifestyle retail with live cultural experiences.

Miss Puttachad Srinisakorn, CMO of MBK Public Company Limited, said, “Step into Thainess–Shop like a Thai is a campaign that highlights tourists’ voices. Our research revealed that travelers value not just products, but the Thai way of bargaining with smiles and friendship—an aspect that is unique to our culture.”

The campaign builds on MBK Center’s strong international reputation, reinforced by Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards 2025 in the “Things to do in Bangkok” category and the Trusted Thailand certification from the Tourism Authority of Thailand, recognising its safety, service standards and visitor experience.

Insights from the campaign highlight distinct regional preferences, with European travellers drawn to souvenirs and Thai handicrafts, Asian visitors enjoying value-driven shopping and bargaining, and Middle Eastern tourists appreciating the variety of retail, IT offerings and halal dining options.

Puttachad stressed, “MBK Center is more than a mall; it’s a cultural destination. By incorporating elements like ‘Khon Dance’ and ‘Muay Thai Fight Night,’ we offer a distinct and memorable experience, promoting our soft power. We invite tourists to embrace the warmth and charm of Thainess through this campaign.”

Beyond shopping, MBK Center continues to showcase Thai culture through free monthly Khon dance performances and Muay Thai Fight Nights, offering visitors immersive cultural experiences in the heart of Bangkok.

Through “Step into Thainess–Shop like a Thai”, MBK Center invites global travellers to experience a blend of tradition, modernity and everyday Thai life in one destination.
