Aveeno highlights sensitive skin experiences through ‘#SensitiveSkinWontStopUs’ campaign

Manila, Philippines — Skincare brand Aveeno has launched ‘Aveeno Sensitive Skin Stories’, a collection of personal accounts from its ambassadors and community members as part of its wider #SensitiveSkinWontStopUs initiative.

The campaign aims to draw attention to the experiences of Filipinos with sensitive skin, a condition estimated to affect around seven in ten people in the country. As part of this initiative, Aveeno is seeking to build a community focused on understanding the needs of people with sensitive skin. According to the company, #SensitiveSkinWontStopUs is intended to encourage more open conversations around skin sensitivity and promote shared experiences among Filipinos.

During the campaign launch in June, select members of the media and influencers attended an immersive gallery featuring stories and reflections from individuals with sensitive skin. The presentations explored the emotional aspects of navigating skin conditions, framed through the campaign’s central message.

The launch also included a programme featuring athlete and international host Vince Velasco, and colour analyst Enzo Villacorta, both of whom have lived with eczema since childhood.

Velasco recounted challenges he faced when younger, including bullying, and discussed how he continues to manage his skin condition. Villacorta spoke about the impact of eczema on his confidence and shared how he found a simple skincare approach that works for him.

Aveeno marketing manager Ira Santos said, “At Aveeno, we believe sensitive skin shouldn’t hold anyone back. Whether you’re pushing limits as an athlete, juggling family life, pursuing your passion, or chasing deadlines at work — your skin should never be a reason to stay on the sidelines.”

She added, “That’s the spirit behind our new campaign: #SensitiveSkinWontStopUs. This movement is about empowering people to move stronger, live fully, and wear their skin with pride — no matter their skin story.”

Dermatologist Dr. Paula Carait also discussed common misconceptions about skin sensitivity, noting, “The absence of dryness or flaking does not rule out skin sensitivity. Sensitive skin can present as burning, stinging, or itching—even in well-hydrated skin. Formulations containing scientifically supported ingredients like oat can help restore the barrier, reduce reactivity, and promote overall skin comfort.”

Moreover, Isabel Lacson-Ruiz, senior marketing manager of Kenvue Philippines, also shared her experience as a parent of children with atopic dermatitis, saying, “…this campaign is about celebrating sensitivity despite the challenges that come with it—not holding back and believing aspirations can come to life.”

Aveeno said the ‘Sensitive Skin Stories’ initiative forms part of its efforts to continue engaging with its community and gathering insights from individuals with skin concerns. The brand, known for formulations centred on oat-based science, says it continues to develop products designed to nourish skin, strengthen the natural barrier, and provide protection from environmental pollutants.
