Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – Air Selangor has released a new Chinese New Year short film titled ‘Love Never Forgets’, marking the festive season with a story centred on love, sacrifice and caregiving in the context of dementia.
The seven-minute video follows Mei, a wife caring for her husband, Lim, as he experiences progressive memory loss. Set against preparations for Chinese New Year, the narrative highlights the emotional and mental challenges faced by caregivers, while underscoring the role of family, friends and community support in helping them cope.
The short film features local entertainment figures including Louisa Chong as Mei, Goh Kee Kuang as Lim, Khatijah Tan as Salmah and Sukania Venugopal as Rani, who portray the story’s central characters.
Commenting on the release, Muhamad Asyraf Ahmad Suhaibi, head of brand management of Air Selangor said, “We are honoured to share the story of ‘Love Never Forgets’ this Chinese New Year. The video highlights the importance of empathy, emotional support and understanding towards mental health challenges, not only for individuals who are struggling, but also for caregivers and the families around them.”
He added, “This video is also part of Air Selangor’s festive storytelling series for 2026 under the theme ‘Love Flows Like Water’, which will be carried through the upcomingHari Raya Aidilfitri and Deepavali celebrations. In line with our ongoing commitment to advocating mental health awareness over the past two years, Air Selangor continues its ‘Sembang Kalau Bimbang’ initiative in collaboration with the Mental Illness Awareness and Support Association Malaysia (MIASA), which is consistently woven into our festive video narratives.”
According to the company, ‘Love Never Forgets’ is intended to reflect the values commonly associated with Chinese New Year, including renewal, hope and family unity, while reinforcing themes of love and togetherness.
