Hong Kong – Colgate has partnered with the Hong Kong Dental Association and Mannings to launch the city’s first TOTAL Periodontal Health Lab at the Atrium of Olympian City 2, offering residents professional gum screenings, expert consultations, and interactive activities aimed at promoting proactive oral care and overall health awareness.
Scheduled from 12th to 18th March, the initiative comes ahead of World Oral Health Day on 20th March and aims to encourage a “prevention over cure” mindset. The collaboration responds to low public awareness of early signs of periodontal disease, such as gingival bleeding and swelling, and underscores the link between oral health and broader physiological conditions, including cardiovascular disease and diabetes.
The TOTAL Periodontal Health Lab centres on the concept that “Healthy Bodies Start with Healthy Gums”, providing a “Play + Learn” experience that combines clinical assessments with interactive education. Residents can participate in real-time periodontal screenings, complimentary dental consultations, and expert-led seminars, alongside three hands-on challenges designed to highlight hidden oral health risks.

A key feature of the lab is its clinical-grade Plaque Detector, which uses optical imaging to reveal bacteria often invisible to the naked eye. On 14th and 15th March, visitors can also access the Gum AI Oral Health Assessment, a university-developed system that evaluates gingival health using smartphone or tablet images and translates complex clinical data into clear, user-friendly reports.

The initiative reflects an effort to make professional oral healthcare more accessible and data-driven for the general public.
Participants completing professional consultations receive a tube of Colgate Total Plaque Intense & Gum Repair (95g) and exclusive brand vouchers. In addition, the lab integrates interactive “Healthy Teeth” challenges, offering rewards such as Colgate products, cash vouchers, and limited-edition Nailoong merchandise to reinforce engagement and education.

The event also features a collaboration with Mannings, with exclusive on-site and online promotional offers, including premium gifts for purchases of selected oral care products.
By combining preventive care, digital innovation, and interactive learning, the TOTAL Periodontal Health Lab aims to empower Hong Kong residents with practical tools to protect both gum and overall health.
